WELCOME TO THE CHILTERN CHOIR
< *
The Choir, before a summer concert, in Sarratt Church Hall
- The Chiltern Choir, based in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, has about 50 members who come from Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, Watford, and the Chilterns.
- The music we sing comes from a wide spectrum of the choral repertoire, from recognisably mainstream to the less familiar contemporary, and from the deeply serious to the flippantly light-hearted.
- We have a young, enthusiastic and highly professional musical director - Michael Mizgailo-Cayton.
- We have performed works specially comissioned in recent years by composers such as Antony Le Fleming, Bryan Kelly and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
- We perform 3-4 concerts a year in well-known local venues. These usually consist of one large scale work plus orchestra, with the others on a rather smaller scale
- We have formed links with several other choirs, enabling us to participate in concerts requiring larger forces; in particular the Harrow Choral Society, the Chorale Erik Satie (Honfleur, France) and the Watford Philhamonic Society.
- We have sung in large venues such as Norwich and Dublin Cathedrals, our local St Albans Cathedral, and will be joining up with the Harrow Choral Society again, for another performance at St Alban's Cathedral in March 2008.
Do Join Us!
Can you sing? (Pavarotti standard not required!)
Would you enjoy singing with a friendly group of like-minded people who enjoy making good music together?
Are you free term-time Tuesday evenings between 8 and 10pm?
Do you live within reach of Chorleywood (The Free Church, at the junction of Hillside Road and South Road - no more than a 5 minute walk from the tube)?
If you've answered yes - we would love to hear from you!
